Arsenal drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night in an entertaining Champions League clash that swung on an early injury, two well-taken goals and a stoppage-heavy finish.

The Gunners were forced into a change inside ten minutes when Bukayo Saka went down with a thigh injury and had to be replaced by Eberechi Eze, who made an immediate impact by opening the scoring midway through the first half.

Kane and Davies respond

Bayern hit back through Alphonso Davies, set up by a first-time pass from Harry Kane, before Kane himself put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot in the 61st minute. Arsenal would not be denied a point, however, with Declan Rice scoring an 82nd-minute equaliser to make it 2-2.

  • Result: Bayern Munich 2-2 Arsenal
  • Scorers: Eze, Rice (Arsenal); Davies, Kane pen (Bayern)
  • Saka forced off after 10 minutes with a thigh injury
  • Arsenal sit seventh in the Champions League table, on course for automatic qualification

The draw means Arsenal remain unbeaten in 90 minutes of Champions League football since their loss to Paris Saint-Germain in May 2025 — a run that now stretches back well over a year and underlines how far Mikel Arteta's side have come since their heartbreaking penalty shootout exit to PSG in last season's competition.
